For that ultra-smooth, ‘filtered’ complexion. Designed to treat all skin types any time of the year, MOXI is a non-ablative laser treatment that prevents and reduces signs of aging in the skin, smoothing skin’s texture and boosting collagen production for healthy, radiant new skin. Delivering safe and transformative laser treatments since 2018, North is also proud to be one the first providers of MOXI in Canada!
No matter where you are in your skincare journey, MOXI offers the best in skin health by simultaneously reversing signs of aging and sun damage, while also being an ideal treatment for 'prejuvenation' - staving off the visible signs of aging before they even appear.
The treatment works by heating up the tissue underneath the dermis to stimulate collagen without touching the surface, replacing damaged cells with new ones to effectively:
Discomfort tends to be a bit more heightened during a MOXI treatment than other laser treatments. You can expect your skin to feel hot throughout the treatment, and will likely look pink and feel warm (like a sunburn) for the rest of the day. To alleviate any potential discomfort, we liberally apply a numbing cream prior to treatment and cold compresses to cool the skin immediately after.
The MOXI treatment itself is quite quick - typically around 6 minutes - but your North aesthetician will apply numbing cream 30 minutes prior to the treatment and spend time applying cold compresses afterwards.
With MOXI, there may be some social downtime required post-treatment, with the potential of mild inflammation. Skin will also be gritty to the touch for a few days afterwards, with a texture similar to sandpaper before totally smoothing out. The good news? You can resume a gentle skincare routine & apply makeup 24 hours after treatment.
For the day following your treatment, your skin may appear red and, depending on your level of treatment, you may see the small micro dots called mendz where the laser was applied. As the mendz heal, they will darken and feel rough. Between days 3-5, the mendz will slough off, revealing the renewed skin beneath.
Unlike most other laser treatments, MOXI is attracted to water, not pigment, making it safe and effective for all skin tones. It’s an amazing treatment for patients with darker skin tones who’ve spent countless hours and dollars trying to resolve melasma and hyperpigmentation without success.
We often recommend an initial round of 3 to 4 sessions, each spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. After that, you may choose to maintain your results with touch-up treatments once or twice a year.
