Dermal Fillers

At North Medical, our highly trained Medical Practitioner will determine the best dermal filler for you. We mostly use Juvederm™ but depending on the area to be treated, we may use another safe and effective dermal filler such as Radiesse™ or Belotero™. Please note that we are committed to your satisfaction and we will always recommend the best product for you.

What are Dermal Fillers?

As we age, our skin loses collagen which keeps our face looking full and firm. Dermal fillers are made from an injectable gel made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which occurs naturally in our skin. HA delivers nutrients which helps our skin retain softness, moisture, and repairs damage.
Dermal fillers work by adding volume to the skin, smoothing lines and plumping areas that have lost shape or definition.

What is the procedure like?

Once you’ve had our complimentary skin analysis and have decided on dermal fillers, you will have the opportunity to meet your Medical Practitioner to discuss the treatment. You can talk about desired results, review your medical history and have the opportunity to ask any questions before the treatment. The Doctor or Nurse Practitioner will examine your facial structure to determine where to administer the fillers. This is a non-surgical treatment. Small amounts of filler will be injected into the areas where you have lost volume.

The treatment usually takes around 30 – 45 minutes.

Do Dermal Fillers hurt?

Dermal fillers contain a pain-reducing local anesthetic to help manage discomfort and to ensure the process is as painless as possible. You may also talk to your Medical practitioner about a topical numbing cream if you’re concerned about further discomfort.

When will I see results?

Usually, you will see results immediately. If there has been any swelling, it should go down in a couple of days and you’ll be able to see the full results.

Dermal fillers usually last between 1-2 years.

When can I return to work / normal activities?

Right away! Downtime is minimal and most people are able to return to work or normal activities right away. If you experience any swelling, tenderness or bruising, it typically only lasts a couple of days.

Are dermal fillers safe?

Our highly trained North Medical Practitioners will be able to assess whether dermal fillers are right for you. To ensure your safety, it’s important to discuss your current state of health, any changes to your health and any medications you may be taking with your North Medical Practitioner at every appointment.
